PIEA Photo Contest
I guess i find this picture inspiring because of the way it looks, I don't understand it completely but i love the way that on the right side there seems to be a piece of space and gases. It seems to be coming out from the cake that is set for the old man to eat. Its just so awesome from my point of view, he seems so calmed and happy. The tattoos on his chest stand out because everything in the background is dark and there's a small amount of light in the front of him and that's how you see them and they stand out.

Funny Captions

Bar Flamingo in Florida have had some problems with tourist about not explaining things and schedules well.
So about 3 days ago they put up a sign to tell the tourist they are welcomed and they could talk to them in English, sadly the mexican guy who put the sign up didn't know any English or how to spell half the things he was meant to put up.

Young PeggySu was told that if she didn't pray each night the monster under the bed would come out and eat. She decided to take her dolls down to pray with her in case the monster came out, she said he would eat them and not her.
I wonder what Bob is working on? He seems pretty busy today. I'm guessing that his computer reads minds, like one of does new laptops that government uses.

Marlboro Marine

Luis Sinco uses Music and the own experience he went through with Blake, this causes the listener to have more emotion. He also uses good texts every once in a while to explain what is going on, and it's the mist important points.

This slideshow made me think different about people that come from war. I use to think that they felt great thinking they were hero's because they fought for their country but instead they have all these memories that haunt them and make them feel bad about them selfs and still living. I think that the effect is pretty major towards people because they learn to not just celebrate the return but to care about how they are doing and if they need help to overcome the traumas.

The most powerful image is the one of Blake smoking the cigar.

The ones of his where he looks sad, shows the emotion and things he is going through.

The audio puts more emotion into the pictures.

It shows his life and the things that happened. Like what he saw in Iraq, when he got married, when he left to the program, when he came back and had problems with his wife, his new friends, and in the end how things ended.

Great white and black photographers, part 3

The thing that caught my eye would be the way he captures the peoples faces and the way he has them posed. There is something in particularly that made his photos interesting and that would be that most of his pictures he has the people dressed in a certain way or doing something weird.

I'm standing next to a thin woman. I'm watching her smoke a cigar. Shes of an upper class i can tell by her coat and jewelry. She's in love with her self, her looks tell it all. The aroma of her fancy perfume is all in the room. I can smell it perfectly as she poses for the pictures. I can smell the cigar she is holding in her hand too. I hear her breathing out the smoke of the cigar. I can taste the perfume and cigar because of the strong smell it has. I don't like the mix of aromas it gives me a headache. I reach over and feel her coat. Its soft and fuzzy like a small puppy. Then i touch her hat, its just like her coat, soft.
I see her laying on the bed undressed. I watch as she reaches over to turn the alarm off to stop it from ringing any longer. She looks tired and her hat covers her messy hair. Theres a cup of wine on the table next to her that she almost dropped when turning the alarm off. The smell in the room is that off morning air. I can smell the strong wine in the cup too. I hear her turning her self in the sheets. I hear the alarm as she hasn't yet turned it off. I feel her skin its warm and soft. The blankets are soft too.

I would like to make a collage of his photography and then in a poster write facts about his amazing work and life. Half the poster with photography and half with information.

Great white and black photographers, part 2

William Klein
William Klein was part of a family of poor Jewish immigrants, born in New York in 1928. He lived in a neighborhood surrounded by Irish which caused him to be picked on and was discriminated much by them. Friends described him as a bright sarcastic boy who liked art and the humanities. He was very smart that at the age of 14 he enrolled at city college of New York to study sociology. Then when he was 18 he was in the US army for 2 years and spent them in Germany and France.  In 1948 he enrolled at the 'sorbonne' in Paris and 1949, klein studied briefly with lhote and fernand leger. Married Jeanne Florin and lived in France and still lives and works in Paris. His use of high-grain film and wide angles shocked the established order of the photography world and he arned a reputation as an anti-photographer's photographer. In 1954 he returned to New York and decided to photograph New York in a new way, a kind of photographic diary. He got a contract as a fashion photographer for the magazines. He took his work back to Paris and hmanaged to find a french publisher, editions seuil, who believed in it and brought it out in 1956 (re-issued 1995). It was also published in Italy the same year Klein's book won the nadar prize. From 1955 to 1965 he worked for Vogue. From 1965 to the early early 80's he abandoned photography and primarily concentrated on film, made various documentaries like broadway by light in 1958, who are you polly maggoo in 1966 and a couple more. He returned to photography in the 1980s due to a renewed interest in his early work this period is characterized by his use of close-ups and wide angle lenses. In the 90s he received the hasselblad prize and various retrospectives of his films were organized in New York and Japan. In 1997 he rephotographed new
york and had shows in barcellona and Paris, then in 1999 he was awarded the 'medal of the century' by the royal photographic society' in London. He has had some solo exhibitions from 1997 to 2000 all over the world.

Action and Emotion
There's happiness in this picture between the young girl and the young man holding her, she seems to be smiling and he's holding her in a very caring way which gives the audience the feeling or emotion of "aww".
Best Story
You can make so many stories from this picture. I imagine a young girl that is researching the skeleton and is very interested on what she is doing.

 Filling the frame
This picture is very interesting, the guy playing the guitar and singing. A guy besides him playing another guitar. There's another guy to the side doing the same. On the background there's a light and everything looks black.
